Wings are for birds only.
translated by Ellison
There were two frogs trapped in a well and one day, they asked the creater for giving them the opportunity to leave that tiny area. The creater promised them and gave them two choices. One was that they will have another 20 years life, which they can use the fist 10 years to strengthen their capacity of jumping, so that they can jump out of the well with their own strength one day and to live in the wide space. The other way was that they can have a pair of wings at the cost of losing their feet, which can help them to fly like the birds. But once they choose the second way, they must keep flying without any rest, otherwise, they will die when they land on the earth.
The frog A made its way based on the first suggestion while frog B selected the other way. It was 10 years later that Frog A finally reached the edge of the well with the help of its strong feet. He looked around and found that frog B was groaning not far away from him, and it seems that frog B can hardly survive. It was because the frog B took for granted that he can make up what his had missed with the pair of wings. At the beginning, he did enjoy flying, but after a long fly, he gradually found that it was totally boring to fly without any brakes. At last, he made up his mind to stop flying despite of knowing the fact that he will die once he stopped.
In many levels, the best way to actualize our life is not to perfect our demerits with others merits but to make our shortcomings to be the strong points. It is true that with the help of wings, one can fly higher than who with feet, but this principle is only suitable for birds but not for frogs.
